Most home users do not need a static IP address, and therefore simply pull a random address from one of our dynamic IP pools. However, a dedicated IP address is utilized in cases where the IP address for your application needs to remain consistent.

If you are hosting an email, web or vpn server you will need a static IP so that you can point your domain to this address. i.e. www.yoursite.com will point to your static IP address.
